For Novon Digital, a Dutch consultancy specializing in Azure, AI, and digital transformation, growing meant a painful paradox: more projects coming in but not enough senior engineers to support them. More and more projects were becoming blocked because the right talent simply wasn’t in place.

Finding the right talent

Finding experienced Azure and AI engineers in the Dutch market is genuinely difficult. The profiles Novon needed – senior, independently operating, comfortable working directly with clients in a remote-first environment – don’t come cheap, and they don’t come fast.

Novon had already identified nearshoring as a potential answer. Central and Eastern Europe has strong technical depth, especially in exactly the cloud and AI stack Novon runs on. What they needed was a partner who understood both sides: the technical requirements and the team dynamics behind them.

The first successful placements helped build trust very quickly. Over four years, we placed more than 30 engineers at Novon with a 93% placement success rate. The three blocked projects got the capacity they needed to move forward.
