years of partnership
software engineers placed
long-term retention
De BouwApp is a fast-growing Dutch SaaS company. They develop software for organizations operating in public spaces, including municipalities and construction companies. As their product scaled, so did the pressure to grow the engineering team behind it, with people who could do more than fill a seat. They needed experienced software engineers who would integrate naturally into the team, match the company culture, and commit for the long term.
In the Dutch market, that proved difficult. Competition for technical talent is fierce, and finding software engineers who combined the right skills with cultural fit wasn’t something that could be rushed. The biggest impact was on the internal team: leadership and technical colleagues were spending valuable time on recruitment instead of focusing on the product and strategic priorities. As a relatively small team, every hire mattered. Open positions created additional pressure and made it more difficult to plan and scale efficiently.
De BouwApp was introduced to Peoply through a mutual connection. The collaboration started small with one software engineer and the approach was immediately different from what they’d experienced before.
Peoply invested time in understanding De BouwApp’s team dynamics, ways of working, and the kind of person who would fit naturally into the environment. Communication stayed simple and transparent throughout. When that first hire integrated well, the decision to continue felt straightforward.
Trust built quickly, and the scope grew with it.
Over three years, Peoply placed three software engineers at De BouwApp, each one a long-term contributor. The retention speaks for itself: rather than constantly replacing people, De BouwApp built a stable software engineering team that stayed.
With recruitment handled and the hires landing well, leadership and technical colleagues could redirect their time back to the product and growth. The operational burden of constant searching, screening, and coordinating largely disappeared.
